First lets make it crystal clear that Namazi, his dad, along with all other captives in Islamist fascists’ captivity are innocent until proven otherwise in a fair judicial proceeding, which does not, and has not existed in Iran for the past 37 years.

Now, aside the Islamist fascists –“reformers” and all- demagogues using sophistic reasoning to support criminality, there are also some who genuinely believe in the same type of erroneous argument.

Here is the core of Jahanshah Javid’s erroneous argument in defense of his imprisoned “friend” Siamak Namazi, who is documented to work very, and I mean very closely, with the Islamist fascists at the highest level:

“Many of you have and will critize Siamak for doing business in Iran, which obviously involves dealing with the government. A very ruthless and corrupt government. But there are literally millions of Iranians who work and do business every day, only to make a living and serve their country. Serving their country by helping foreign companies do business in Iran and do trade and invest in various industries.

One side of the argument is that Siamak and those like him have profited from dealing with a terrible regime and if they get caught in the web of politics, they can't complain. The other argument is that he and others are helping people improve their lives by facilitating trade and investment, while also trying to save a narrow bridge between Iran and the West.

I only hope his critics outside Iran realize that Siamak is not the enemy.”

In the making of any argument, if the assumption(s) is erroneous, so will be the intended result.

It has long been a black letter law; supporting and facilitating criminality is a crime. There are many documented examples in Namazi’s file, which one day he has to answer in a credible court of law, here is just one.

How on earth working for Dubai based oil and gas company Crescent, which without making any investment in Iran, cut a sweetheart long-term gas deal with the Rafsanjani branch of the Islamist mafia,  trough Mehadi, the junior Rafsanjani,  is going to benefit “millions of Iranian people” or “serve the country”?

The problem in believing falsehood is that, it makes it easy to dismiss reality.
