Iran has massed its tanks along its border with Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdish region.

Last week, a secession referendum was held in the Kurdish region in defiance of the government in Baghdad, as well as neighbouring Iran and Turkey.

The tensions following the vote has also had an impact on trade in predominantly Kurdish areas along the Iraq-Turkey border.
