The other day, I passed by a young American guy who was passing out fliers for an ESL school. He must’ve been in his mid to late twenties. I asked him what part of the US he was from. “Texas,” he responded. So I asked him, “Did you come all the way from Texas to do this?” He laughed and said something that I didn’t even pretend to hear, wished him well and walked on.
I have been saying what the lady says for decades. And those who “hate” me most for saying it are often the low-income folks.
