As some of you may already know, I have a poetic soul. In fact, I have previously published a sample of my poems on the old site. I hadn’t done so recently, but then I noticed that an “ex-Toudehi,” who happens to be a raging anti-Semite is posting her poems. So, I said to myself ‘why not me?’ I think expressing my poetry is even more important in light of the fact that 85% of Iranians are poets. So, here we go. I call this one “The Depths of Attal.”

Hassan’s cow has three looks,

It has no milk and no teat,

They took his cow to India,

Take an Indian wife,

Name her Khalghezee,

With a red rimmed hat…

I threw a rock at a Bulbul;

Her voice could be heard all the way to Istanbul,

Istanbul was destroyed….

My dear grandmother’s heart was broken.

Thanks for reading. I will post my poems as I put them together for my upcoming Divan. It will be called “Divan-e Naashenaas.”  My next poem is called The Darkness of Kalagh-Par.
