Dr. Parvaneh Azimi was sitting at her desk at Pfizer Pharmaceutical Research Labs on a small island off Costa Rica where she saw the news item regarding the discovery of Reza Shah’s mummified body in Shah Abdulazim. She almost spilled her coffee. She did not know much about Reza Shah until she watched the documentary on Manoto TV and realized what a great leader he was and learned all about his incredible contributions to the Iranian people.
Parvaneh was a biology student at Tehran University and had to escape Iran after being arrested during the Green Movement. She eventually arrived at the US, got her PhD from Harvard in biomedical engineering with her thesis in DNA sequencing and epigenetics. She received a research position at Pfizer Pharmaceutical Research Labs working on cloning and other futuristic activities. She occasionally worked on a remote island off Costa Rica in a facility dubbed the “Jurassic Park” on projects to bring back extinct animals like the black rhinos or sea minks using their DNA’s. She marveled at the possibility of bringing back the dinosaurs. She even wrote a research paper on how a well-kept DNA of a dead person can be used to clone him by implanting the genetically modified eggs in a woman. The project got cancelled because of ethical reasons and the fear of boycott by the Religious Right.
Parvaneh had met Reza Pahlavi a couple of years ago in a meeting honoring distinguished Iranians and stayed in touch with him about Iran’s political affairs. She got on the phone to discuss her ideas with him. She thought that she could take a DNA sample from the mummy and depending on its condition, try to clone Reza Shah.
“So Mr. Pahlavi, what do you think of the idea?”
“Tell me a little bit more.”
“I can take a sample of his DNA and modify an existing egg and have a woman carry the embryo and deliver us a new Reza Shah in 9 months. Given the Iranians recent attraction to this great leader, in 18-20 years we will have a brave leader that can finally put an end to this criminal regime. And before I forget, please send me some of your nail clippings and hair for DNA verification. You and your sister are the only ones left who can verify the DNA.”
“That sounds fabulous. By the way, over the past couple of days I have received many calls from all kinds of folks requesting my DNA samples!”
“Can you think of anybody that you trust who is willing to carry the embryo for 9 months?”
“You know. An idea just came to me. My eldest daughter who is pursuing a modelling career really wants to have a child, but doesn’t want to get married. I saw the look on her face when she learned that Kate Middleton had her 3rd child. I am sure that she would love to do this and actually raise our Reza Shah the 3rd. And this will make the royal lineage completely acceptable.”
“Wow. That’s so great. You realize that he will be both your grandpa and grandson and the successor!”
“I love it. Let’s do it. I can no longer wait for Trump, Bolton or bin Salman!”
