O' people of Israel, do your historic part, by demanding from your elected government to do the right thing, by returning to the legal borders of pre-1967...by signing the NPT, by abandoning the doctrine of "expansionism"... O' People of Israel...

I like the way Middle Eastern leaders try to trick each other into starting a war in Iran. The Saudis, first tried to starve the Qataris and force them into a coalition against the IR Regime, and when that didn’t work, they turned to Lebanon and forced the Saudi citizen and the Lebanese PM Hariri to pick a fight with the Hezbollah. The guy is in Paris now and is in no mood to start a war.

Meanwhile, the Saudis’ newly-found “natural alley” Israel, with whom they can only meet in the middle of the night and in the dark alleys because the Saudi people will get pissed, is trying to get the Saudis to do the heavy-lifting against the IR Regime. Saudis in turn turned to Pakistan and Egypt to provide the ground troops, but they both refused and the Pakistanis got closer to China which is not that close with India. Meanwhile, Trump is trying to get somebody to stand up, but no volunteers so far!

There are 2 things that are certain in the Middle East and has been the case for the past few thousands of years. First, the enemy of your enemy is your friend, until they are not. Second, nobody is strong enough to have a decisive victory over the other, so people will live to fight another day and the hostilities continue.

This is a brain child of U.S Military industrial complex  with their bosom body Israel trying to open another front in Mideast but they ran to issue this time: Israel is small, smart but hated in the region so they try to push U.S to do it. U.S is worn out by all the wars in Mideast and Afghanistan and there is no appetite for military intervention now (That’s one of the reasons among many  Trump got elected) no matter how hard the brain washing  industry also known as media tries to sell this new venture. So they are left with no option but Saudi’s who just purchased  close to ½ trillion worth of military hardware,  but Saudi’s are incompetent, lazy and even with rent a fighter jet pilot program they have not managed to subdue tiny Yemen.  Remains to be seen what’s the next move.

The United States has not had a coherent long term policy in the Middle East since WWII. It has always engaged in tenuous alliances with various parties depending on how the winds blow at any given time. The long list of America's temporary allies includes Iran under the Shah, Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf states, Israel, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, and now the former Soviet Republics and the various Persian Gulf states. I assume that, when all said and done, not much good will come out from this love triangle of USA-Saudi-Israel. But one thing we can be damn sure of is that the Iranian people will end up being the losers of any eventual outcome. They get it both ways, from their own mullahs, and then from all the other countries in the world that the mullahs have pissed off for the past 40 years.

In fact US should have stayed out of ME before WWII. This way ME had to beg for US help instead of disliking US.
