In 1967 French French Rock Star Johnny Hallyday and then wife Sylvie Vartan visited Imperial Iran and performed in Tehran for the Royal Family. Sylvie Vartan revisited Iran in 1977 and performed again in front of Iran's royals as well as the French speaking Iranian community. 
 
Known as the French Elvis, Johnny Hallyday's career spanned over more than 60 years. His death after a long battle against Cancer was followed by a ceremony with full honors unlike anything seen since the death of Victor Hugo.
